Organization: Helping Our People Excel (HOPE)

Project Title: “Sisters Standing Together and Reaching (S-STAR)”

AGALI Fellow Aisha Cooper Bruce and HOPE are advocating to ensure the prioritization of children’s’ rights in Liberia, with special focus on adolescent girls, through the amendment and enactment of the Children’s Act.  HOPE is working with its civil society networks to conduct advocacy trainings, lobby key government ministers, and insure that mechanisms for partnership development, fund development and monitoring are put in place to support the implementation of the Children Act. HOPE is collaborating with AGALI Fellow Rosana Schaack’s organization, THINK, to implement this important initiative.

Organization: Touching Humanity in Need of Kindness (THINK)

Project Title: “Advocacy for Amending and Passing of the Children’s Act”

In collaboration with Aisha Cooper Bruce and HOPE, AGALI Fellow Rosana Schaack is working to ensure the prioritization of child rights in Liberia through the amendment and enactment of the Children’s Act, with special focus on adolescent girls. THINK is targeting lawmakers to pressure for the passage of the Children’s Act and conducting a nationwide communications campaign to build public support for girls’ rights.
